SC - It really depends on how much you want to spend and how much detail you're willing to put into your truck. You can do as Tide says (which I would never recommend) although I don't believe he does that to his truck . A really good system for most weekend detail warriors is the 3-step Deep Crystal system by Meguires. I use it myself and think it does a great job. It consists of a paint cleaner, polisher and carnuba wax. Although I really don't use the paint cleaner, instead I do a good clay job. That really makes a difference in the feel of your paint and really gets it ready for the polish and wax. Another step I will be adding the next time I do a really good detail on my truck (probably Aug) is to put a synthetix wax like NXT then a coat of the carnuba wax the next day.
One of my next investments will be a DA polisher and some of the detailing line of products form Megs. I have learned lots from Rockpick on another F150 board and I'm ready to step up my detailing steps. One good thing about going to a DA polisher is it will save my arms and shoulders.

I have become so goofy about my Angel that today I got a load of dirt for my inlaws and I brought her home and gave her a bath. I waxed her right before I went to Lima for the show. I saw the 3 step line at the show. The only thing we bought form them was the pet odor spray/cleaner because of the accident with the dog.

I love to try different products but I'll stick to one if I like it. Usually only something new that sounds good will sway me into trying it. I loved Liquid Glass for years. then I tried the Dupont with teflon. By far the best finish I've had. It's just a tad harder to use but worth it. No, I'm not a Gordon fan.
