I don't like to spend the money on clay bars and such. warm soapy water and one of those little round nylon pot scrubbers is what I use and it works great!

I've made several road trips to Cape Breton Nova Scotia (going home) to see family and ailing mother. My drive is from Denver Colorado to Cape Breton N.S.. It's a six thousand mile round trip. I've done my past trips in a '97 Power Stroke and a '08 Sport Trac. Both have had chrome mirrors. I've always put several coats of wax on the chrome grille, bumpers and front edges of the mirrors for easy bug removal.
My newest vehicle is '11 ECO F-150 with black plastic mirrors. I've noticed removing bugs from the plastic is a pain.

Does anyone have suggestions for something I can put on the black plastic mirrors, pre-trip, for easier removal of the bugs.

I have researched this and everything I find deals with bug removal. I tried Pam one trip and the stuff turned to a sticky glue substance which yellowed the headlights and was B**** to remove..

I have a product I've been testing: A temp spray on clear bra that will wash off with soap and water. It will reduce the durability of the wax/sealant but super easy to use. I'm still in the testing phase but it looks promising. The car show drivers love it as they don't have to tape off the car in blue painters tape before driving to the show.

I'll keep you posted as to what I find.
