Default We need more regular cab pickups

To improve sales, why don't Ford and Chevrolet go back to making the sporty short wheel base/regular cab pickups similiar to the models made in the 90's. These trucks were actually shade tree mechanic, easy to back up, and wallet friendly to repair? Their lighter weight and 15 inch rim sizes made them more fuel efficient than quad cabs with 17 inch rims even without added electronics and cylinder deactivation. In addition, they half the price of quad cabs.

I have less usable space in a regular cab than that of my supercab. The weight difference is not that significant and 15in rims havent been put on an F150 out of the factory for some time as the brakes are too large.

Most people nowdays want more interior room than a regular cab offers. Id like to see the manufacturers offer simpler, less expensive trucks but regular cabs arent strong sellers nowdays.
Im a single guy and I could be perfectly happy with a regular cab 4x2 XL with a V8 that puts out 200 hp; but some people have tastes and needs that requires more than a basic truck.
