A tech tip section that everyone can view but only a few can post in to keep the chat down in it.

 

how about a general exhaust tec, I'm sick of "make my truck loud" posts.

Anyone for a write up, lol. I tried once, and it went no where.

 

We need a locked how to tech section for step by step instructions on stuff strictly for reference purposes no posting. For all the people who have never done stuff like that before.

For issues like brake replacment, changing oil, replacing fuel filters, where to find/how to change your air filter, change differential fluid, clean MAF sensor, flush your radiator, clean your fuel system, replace freon, etc.....

You could then have a separate thread for posting.

Also we need a section for diagnosis:
These could be either links or locked to where no posts are allowed but you can still input data.

Diagnose trouble codes, VIN decoder, tire size calculator, etc......

Since I just did this one, I'll throw it in the hat. This section would be beneficial for everyone. Even though this is related to maintenance, this is more of a How To and would be great for a Techinfo Section. The maintenance section works great for Q and A.

We have had a few members ask how to do specific things, maintenance wise. This section could be a step by step answer for those. The next time I do my fuel filter I'll do another How To for that, unless someone beats me to it since mine just got replaced.
