Its best to use google like this: "F150 forum 2013 f150 fans run on high"

No you are not imagining things.

I don't know what wonky means, but F150Forum has over 7.5 million posts and they're all accessible via browsing or searching. In other words, that's a lot of data to parse.

That said, few can compete with Google's resources. Google's start and main business used to be Search. Google indexes F150Forum and so, like digitaltrucker stated, you can use Google to search for something specific on this site.

It does work but perhaps not entirely as expected or it could be bad input = bad output

The search engine isn't my area, but I can tell you as a forum member and Admin for the last 20+ years, across all sorts of different sites, it's pretty rare for someone to praise the search engine instead of reporting issues using it or with the results. It really doesn't matter the site or the forum software used.

If you have a better way to search 7.5 million posts, let us know, otherwise, the Google suggestion we made is the best solution we can provide you at this time.

sorry you took my question personal. It was just a question (not a complaint) that was answered and then you felt the need to duplicate the answer and add a little bit of sass. Thanks for all you do👍🏻

Not at all. That's why I said Search engine isn't really my area. I was merely supporting the answer that digitaltrucker gave regarding using Google search. In fact, in past discussions when this has been raised, I've made the same suggestion and provided the same information (i.e, amount of data to search is not trivial):
