Rep System
The bashing... Is on any forum of this size.. The computer screen add 9zillion thug points... Anyone that has been on this forum for very long And post how to help someone .. Usuually know what there talking about.. Or have been around the block.. And can find an answer or will point the OP to the right direction...
Post count comes into play... If the person has tons of post count.. There going to either know what there talking about... Or can help you find what you are looking for.. They wont bash.. IF they did they wouldnt last.. And would be gone with the wind ..

I think it would be a great addition.
I haven't been on the forum long, and defiantly don't have near the post count as some of you guys. But, I'm sure I'm not the only one who gets tired of seeing some of the ridiculous stuff some people continually post in what could be a productive thread, often just leading to arguing.
I personally try to make every post count. I am typically not rude, don't throw in useless comments, and try to help when I can. I've received a TON of help from this forum and like to try to give back. However, unless you have a huge post count, and are seen enough to make a name for yourself, you may not be taken seriously at times.
Now not to say a rep system would stop any of the useless comments, or change things in the grand scheme of the forum, but it would be nice to use to try to "discourage" people from posting useless comments in what could be a productive thread. If nothing else, make you feel better punishing someone when you see something dumb that pisses you off, haha
just my .02

Theres a misconception about post count... one I also had when I was new to forums.
If you have a low post count, you shouldnt automatically assume you won't be taken seriously. Its about content and attitude. If you look around, the people that are usually the bashers/instigators/general asshats- don't usually have a high post count because the get bored with being a bully. Subsequently, they don't log in much and then dwindle off to forgottenland. The higher post count people are the ones who ask the good questions or even just contribute something to the forum that is entertaining to read and discuss... not always about the media the forum is directed toward.
As any seasoned forum member will tell you, you can always tell the posters that will stick around for a while from the ones that only come to ask one question for help or to be a bully.
As for the rep system, its been discussed before and shot down mainly due to it potentially coming to more of a popularity contest.
