Question Question, regarding the site.

I know this site (forum) is supposed to be a good website with nothing bad, aka explicit stuff, but is there a way you guys (mods, anybody that cares) could create/edit something up, where you have to be (or at least click) 18 years of age to be on the site. I'm not saying to turn the F-150 Forum into a ***** house, but I just think that it would be easier (for you guys also) not to worry so much about foul language and semi-racy stuff. I mean, still keep deleting the "really" bad stuff (like nude pictures), if you mods actually find that stuff on here, IDK. I just think it gets annoying with everything closing down, and maybe if there was an acceptance/agreement form (pop-up box), this could go away. Thanks to anyone that reads this .

PS: I hope this doesn't offend anybody, but tell me it wouldn't be a better webstie

This is a common topic of discussion in the staff section. We know that if we continue to close threads and delete posts like we are getting paid to do so, we will turn away members. This is a cyclic operation that unfortunately most members don't recognize.

The cycle usually begins with a large increase in new membership that starts posting material that is "testing our waters" so to speak. The wife/girlfriend thread us a perfect example. Once the (usually well behaved) seasoned members see these borderline posts, they take one of two routes. One- they recognize the infractions about to take place and report the posts and the staff deals with it as needed. Two- the mob mentality locks in and they join in, getting progressively worse as the cycle goes deeper. Sadly, the latter is usually the road most often traveled. That leads us to where we are currently.

Now, what we are forced to do is ensure crowd control and "jerk the herd back into line" while properly showing the new members how operations are normally conducted here.

Once these measures are fully implimented, its usually not long before things settle down and we as staff can go back into autopilot and resume posting as we did before our names were in red.

Trust me, we will be glad when the cycle ends just as much as everyone else.

Yeah, I understand that, and I'm not in anyway a person that condones that kinda thing. I just thought if we had some sort of an agreement then we wouldn't have to worry so much on this topic. Thanks for responding to my question, I hope you understand I wasn't try to gun anyone down.

PS: Do you think this could actually be done/ take place.

My agreements are with Lenn. I'm most likely the most prudent moderator on this site. For awhile, posts were getting way out of hand, and finally it was time to delete them. I offered warnings (several times in the girlfriend/wife picture posting thread) and they went ignored after a day. So the thread was shut down. We are more aggressive now with giving repeat abusers some 'time off'.
Hopefully we are setting the message straight that this site is inforcing the rules.
