Firefox with Ghostery and Adblock Plus installed does the trick just fine. Another forum I'm a member of is horrible with the ads and pop-ups. The administrator chastised me one day about not supporting the site sponsors. Laughed at him; I know and have done business with almost all of his site sponsors. It's all of the Asian *dating* site ads and similar I don't care about.

Implement the following suggestion from Corvette Forum admins. It worked to completely block popups on any Internet Brands forum, which is the only place I was getting popups.

Enter the following URL in the address bar:
chrome://flags/#enable-framebusting-needs-sameorigin-or-usergesture

Then enable the highlighted option.
