I've suggested this many times but ill suggest it more publicly.

It might be a added site feature to disable file attachments. Its 2025, we got youtube and numerous other sites to share these files with other people.

 

No, this won't happen and that's especially because it's not any benefit to remove said feature. There are plenty of cases where the "attachments" within posts have been lost because the external server/platform disappeared.
