Default Adding rep to the forum

Is there a way to add rep to the forum like the Thumbs up or Thumbs down for posts? That would be awesome.

I'd also like the feature, but a lot of members have concerns about it becoming a popularity contest.

The last thread on this suggestion turned into a fight very quickly.

Been on forums for many years...over a decade...

I have never seen the rep stuff used effectively. It becomes a novelty and no one really ever cares anyway.

Now, a rating system for selling/buying on the forum seems to work well if it's regulated by the site staff well. I don't see much of a classified section here to warrant that though.

All valid points. We have discussed and considered both a seller feedback and reputation system. Rep system usually devolves into popularity contests between groups and individuals and we don't really have enough content on classifieds to warrant a itrader system feedback system.

Good suggestions though! I'm sure at some point in the future, we will be re-examining them as the site continues to grow and evolve with it's members.

How about a "Paypal the member who helped you" system?

I was just hoping for the thumbs up thumbs down, but neither did anything. Too many thumbs up and your awesome, too many thumbs down and who really cares anyway?

But I understand the reason for not implementing it.
