Default Are You Happy.

is everyone satisfied with ford and the f-150. i have been a ford man since i was a lil boy. i really donk know why because my dad is a mechanic and he is a chevy man. but i have always liked Fords. i have a 2005 3v 5.4l Supercrew Lariet. i love the truck however im dissapointed with the fact Ford doesnt recall alot of things because people are haveing some of the same problems like fuel pumps, intake problems, vaccume problems, blown motors with under 100k miles and thats crazy. i really dont what to change my opinion about ford but i might have to.

you will have problems with every car that you ever buy, regardless of brand.

I am very happy with my f150, best truck I have ever owned (well, its only the second one, but not the last)

lets just say I will be shopping for fords for a long time to come.

yes and no, the 4.6 motor is realy reliable yet i have had my isues, also i am not a fan of the fly by wire system, the fuel economy is poor compared to chevy and ford is lacking in the power department, but overall the truck is great to drive and i do love her tons...would i buy the 4.6 again no, would i get a 5.4 maybe

I have been fairly happy with the fords that I have owned. I had a 97 Taurus sedan that had the 3.0v6 and it got almost 30mpg on the highway and was very reliable. My 96 F150 is still somewhat new to me, I just bought it in May '07, but I am very happy with her. 132,000 miles and the engine is so quiet, at idle, that you almost don't realize it is running. That is, until I get the money together to put a true dual exhaust under her. A 12 year old truck is going to have it's problems, age affects everything on this planet, but I am happy with my truck and I see no reason to even look at a Chevy.

Forums are a universal place to go online to ask questions and pick people's brains when you are having a problem with your truck. IMO A forum may be one of the worst ways to decide what type of truck to like or to buy. Its like hanging out in a customer service center and trying to decide whether or not to buy the company's product. You are always going to hear about people having problems when u browse forums its just the way it is.
I have yet to see a dealership for any make of vehicle that doesn't have a service center
For every complaint you hear about any vehicle on any forum there are hundreds, maybe even thousands of people having no problems whatsoever, and who love their truck or car...

I really enjoy my 04 lariat. My Dad got me started on Ford but he didn't pressure me into what I should like. I have 2 brothers with Chevy and one has a Dodge. My dads last 3 trucks were all chevy. I started off with GM cars and then made my move to Ford in 96 with a 94 cougar with the 4.6. I never looked back after that. I have had very few problems with Ford products in comparison to GM. I will be a Ford person for a long, long time. After looking at a consumer reports magazine, I would buy a Toyota before I would ever buy a GM or mopar product. I don't like toyota either. Fords reliability has really climbed in the past 5 years. GM's reliability has been dropping hard. The 3800 was the best engine gm ever built and they stopped making it because it was too reliable and they were not able to repair enough of them. MY 89 bonneville had 225k when I bought it for $75 and I put another 30k on it before the tranny went out. If i were to buy another gm it would be another late 80s-early 90s car with a 3800 because they are the only cars that gm built that are still running.
