Question wont sart

hi i'm new to connecting to the internet for help. so bear with me if i don't do it right.

back my 2000 F150 (model 7700) into the shop tonight because the exhaust pipe broke at the clamp just forward of the muffler. anyway not important. went to start her up to check for leak but she would not turn over. basically all lights, dash gages seem to work as normal but only a clik from the solinoid loacated on the fire wall. battery good, all main fuses as far as i can tell are good. maybe it's just to late and it's something simple, any ideas.

Time for a dummy check (nothing personal)...

WIres to the starter all good, not corroded and connected?

It really sucks to have to start it by having someone hold the ground wire onto the starter while you turn the key.

well it turned out pretty basic, got the voltmeter out and checked ground and power at the solinoid with the wife at the ignition. all ok, got the screwdrive across the motor terminal and all ok. got the battery cables out direct to the start side of the solinoid terminal. bottom line with no question it ws the starter solinoid, then 2 hr of frustrtion to get that 11 yeard old starter out.

thanks for the responce.
