Default "Winter" weight

With December rolling in, I thought I'd throw a little weight in the back for some help with traction. I do have 4x4 too. I went to the fire station and grabbed 4 sand bags, then went down to the river and filled 'em up. I'd say they're about 75# each, for a total of about 300# in the back. Then I cut a 2x4 to 66" long and put it across the bed in the groove right behind the wheel wells so the bags don't slide forward. They lay between the 2x4 and the tailgate. Free, easy, and practical. Sure improves the ride too. Not near as much bounce in the rough stuff on the hwy. Whadaya use, if anything?

South central WI,...Madison area. We didn't have squat last year either. Looks like there's snow moving in tonight and later on in the week for us.

I never bothered either. Just a few extra straps for good measure in the winter and thats it.
