Windshield replacement issue
So the car in front of me ran over a tire which flew back into my 2010 F-150 Platinum and shattered windshield, broke off side mirror, and multiple other damages totaling up to $2100 in damage. Just got my truck back from the ford dealership and first of all the side mirror they replaced was all beat up. They claimed that State Farm makes them use recycled parts. I complained and hey said that they would order in a new one. The windshield is not oem which I asked for. Assuming State Farm does not want to replace with oem. The glass they replaced it with is PGW Sound Master. To me it looks cheap compared to the oem soundshield that was originally in there. It's really frustrating me and the replacement job looks like crap as well. The rubber strip on top is not even close to straight across.
Any ideas on what I should do? Is State Farm really that cheap?

Why did you go to ford for that... I had somebody hit me once that had state farm and it was a easy fix dealing with them, they a raised the damage and sent me a check. I later ended up getting state farm, and after a year and a half I let it lapse because the office I was using were completely retarded. Insured the wrong vehicle twice, as well as other issues.
Imo, I wouldn't have gone to ford for a body/glass repair. 2) I would have sat there and made sure the windshield inwanted go put in, if state farm wouldn't covered it I'm sure paying out of packet the difference would have worked. Safelite can get oem I thought, atleast I thing that what we had put in our worktruck

I have no clue but it seems your going to find out. You can take your rig anywhere to get a fixed, might be more of a hassle but imo if a insurance company reccomends going somewhere I probly wouldnt go there just because they have some kinda agreement that works in both their favors and may not nescarily be in the interst of getting it back to tip top shape.
State Farm sent me to a body shop right down the street from where I worked. I was ding great until the service writer said "We will have to order parts". I hear that every day at work and did not want to hear it at the body shop. A rh door replacement and a windshield. They could only find a tinted header windshield. (upgrade) The day it was delivered to me, I thought I would explode. They hung the door, but never adjusted it. Sent it right back and called State Farm. Supposedly, the guy from SF went back to the shop to keep an eye on it. It came back to me with 3/4 in gap on the door. I called SF, which I would have to do 12 times. Next time no SF and I will visit the body shop everyday. And to this day, the truck leaks.
You need to call your insurance company and talk to a rep to see what's going on. You are intittled to be made "whole", meaning the vehicle has to be repaired with the same quality parts as it had prior to the accident. If you do not get any satisfaction with the insurance company rep, simply state (nicely), that you will be contacting a lawyer to resolve the issue.
I suspect the repair shop that did the work is attempting to make a large profit here, and skimped on the parts to gain more (profit) using the insurance money paid for quality parts.
