They say a picture is worth a 1000 words. In this case, it's worth 1000 laughs...

Although not being a fan of Japanese trucks, I'm pretty sure we could find pictures of old F150s much worse than that... lol

Gotta admit, these Toyota are more reliable than our American trucks for sure.

Buuuuuuut, I still love Ford trucks!

He must have gotten the 'high break-over angle' option for getting over pointy hills.

Define "American" made... The Tundra is made in San Antonio, Texas. The Titan is made in Canton, Mississippi. Profits, of course, go to their respective HQ's. But if you're talking about assembly, Ford, Nissan, and Toyota are the only manufacturers that assemble their trucks completely in the US. Both Ram and GM manufacturer their half tons inside and outside the US (Mexico and Canada).

But that's not even an old Toyota! (They did have a serious recall issue with their frames a while back. This is obviously an extreme case).

I sure would have liked to been a fly on the wall at that shop that day. Would loved to have heard the comments/reactions and especially the call to the customer from the Service Advisor... "Hello, Mr. Jones...We've done the oil change and tire rotation you brought your truck in for. I'd like to go over a couple of other things we found when doing your service."

Point taken! I was using a bit of literary license to introduce something i thought was funny.

As someone who has worked for several foreign governments, I am well aware of the impact of the "global economy". It's truly rare to find any product (let alone complex vehicles) that aren't made up of parts sourced from around the world. We all drive "international" vehicles, regardless of the name on the grill or where it was assembled.

You have to admit though....it's still a pretty funny picture (as long as it ain't your truck on the lift)

I can only hope that my F150 lasts as long as my Tennessee made Nissan Frontier did.

I have my doubts, even though that Frontier was rode hard and hung up wet just about every day for 10 years and 180k miles. Now that I'm a "mature" 35 years old, I baby my F150 by comparison. I've owned 3 Rangers before, I know all about "American made" quality, which is why each of them was sold after 2-3 years.
