I originally got linex installed. But my knees are killing me climbing in and out of the truck.
Anyone actually paid for a mat, after getting linex, just to have a softer surface?

I had my reminder how hard the surface was yesterday, when I had my tonneau cover on, but items had slid to the front, and I had to shimmy my way to the front under the cover to get them. I could have undid the cover but at the time it seemed like it would be quicker to just crawl in and grab the goods.

I hear you. Last truck I had sprayed and it was durable but sucked in that things would slide around and it tore up my knees. This truck, I juts got a rubber mat. Things don't slide and it's cushioning to my knees. The mat will help with your issues. It does so well for me that I may not even get my bed sprayed.

I like the plastic liner because things DO SLIDE. I find it easier to secure things to prevent unwanted sliding than to have to lift everything because it won't slide.
Also, plastic liners are much easier to clean out after hauling trash such as grass, leaves, tree trimmings, mulch, etc.
One of these is a must for cleaning corrugations of the liner.

Linex, that that spray in / roll on stuff? I say go for it, you can never have to much protection for the bed floor, especially if you truck is what I like to call a "real truck". (as opposed to a Saturday night boulevard cruiser or racer) I have a bed mat in my Dodge Slayer, and it does a wonderful job.
Before my tonneau cover got vandalized, when I needed to take it on and off, I usually just laid on my back, and shimmied to the front to release the clamps. Which were not a big deal to release especially after the disappearance of the stock clamps, I switched to regular C- clamps.
Now those plastic drop in bed liners I find to be more trouble than they're worth, and like an above poster said, they slide around and wear the paint on the bed floor, and rust it out. But again, if you need to crawl around on one of those, like an above poster said, get an old carpet remanent.

I have a tonneau and an OEM bed mat, but I still throw one of these in for a trip with luggage, tools, Costco trips etc.
For $6 I put a clean one in every year or so.

when I bought my truck it had the sprayed in liner. every thing slid around so I bought a rubber mat from tractor supply. I really like it. If I am hauling some thing that I really need to slide I just take out the rubber mat.
