Wheels on FX4
ah, I guess that's a possibility. say, it looks like these wheels have the TPMS on them...if I ever do get to swap out for stock FX4 wheels, does anyone know if TPMS was standard on the '06 FX4?
ok, good to know. thanks again Gator!
I contacted the dealer, and he said he could swap out the wheels with the other '06 FX4 he has. he said he'd have to charge for mounting and balancing (I want to keep my current tires). he said it'd be around $112 to do that.
I guess I have to weigh this out and see if it's worth the dough now.

ok, I have stayed in touch with the dealer in regards to him getting in a used FX4 with the 18" wheels I want. He finally got one in - an '04 FX4. The wheels are what I want, but are a bit scratched up. He said the tire shop he uses would have to charge $112 to put those wheels on my tires, or, to save money, I could pay $25 - $50 to just swap wheels and tires...
I got to looking more at the tires I have...they are Goodyear Wrangler AT/S stamped with a manufacture date in 2004, and it seems they were OEM tires! Now, they still have some tread left on them, but they are 6 years old! I bet whoever had my truck before me (it was a corporate lease), just took some wheels and tires they had laying around from a 2004 Lariat and threw them on my truck to sell it.
The rest of the story is the FX4 the dealer just got in has tires I've never heard of before, Spector Advanta SUV...they're technically not even AT tires, and I read about some recalls on this brand. They seem a little cheap.
I'm thinking about just waiting out for the next FX4 he gets in with the 18" wheels I want, and hopefully get decent tires too at the same time from that truck.
Suggestions? I just really want the stock 18" FX4 wheels on my truck.

Wow.. Wow.. Wow..
Man your worrying WAY to much. If you look on craigslist, there is so many FX4 and Lariat stockers forsale cheap that someone probably just bought them and swapped them out. If it was a corp. lease truck they probably didn't care whether it had FX4 or Lariat rims.. I see take offs for like $200 that are basically brand new..
Just save your $ and get some aftermarket rims if that's something you might consider in the future.
Cluster says FX4, VIN says FX4... it's an FX4.

This is actually pretty popular from what I have seen to take the Lariat wheels and put them on an FX4. Wasn't and option from the factory though. But things like the wheels swaps happen all the time; my dealership took the 17" XLT wheels off an XLT we had and swapped them with the 20" wheels on a customer's Lariat because the customer didn't like the 20's (made that XLT look fantastic though). Check ebay or craigslist as mentioned earlier, you may find just what you want.
yea i dont think anyone would go to the trouble to switch everything (including VINs?!?!) and not bother with changing the wheels. just wait it out and trade someone wheels thats got fx4s and wants lariats
oh and simmer down bro, your wound tighter than a top
