I'm looking into getting 18" XD Addicts to go on my leveled 04. They come in either 4.5" backspacing with -12mm offset, or 5.71" backspacing with 18mm offset. What does this mean, and how would they differ from each other and from stock wheels? Which would be the right setup to get so that they would stick out from under the truck just enough to look perfect under some bushwacker fender flares?

The 4.5 backspacing with a -12mm offset will stick out 2-3" from your fenders with the tires mounted (the wheel alone will stick out 1/2", trust me I know this because I bought a set of -12mm offset XD addicts and returned them because of how far they stuck out) the 5.71" backspacing with +18mm offset will make your tires stick out probably 1/4" to 1/2" from the fenders, give or take.

The -12mm offset is made more for lifted trucks, IMO they just look too wide and stick out too far for a truck with only a level. The stock wheels are 5.5" backspacing with +30ish mm offset. The bigger the +offset, the more tucked the wheels will be under the wheel wells, the more - the offset, the further the wheels will stick out..

For your application I'd go with the +18mm, I think you'll be very happy with the look, just search pictures, lots of people have them if you need a reference

alright i'll take your word for it. Will that offset work with some bushwackers? because i don't want the wheels tucked in TOO far. lol

The bushwacker pocket flares I think cover like 2" extra (correct me if I'm wrong) So if you got those, the -12mm offset would only stick out from them a hair..If that's the look you're going for I don't see the problem with them as long as you put flares on it

eh well it was the look i was going for but i'm stuck with some 275/70/18 tires that were the only thing that could fit so i don't think those will look good poking out under some flares, they're too thin for that lol
