I've been looking for possible electrical short . so I looked into the all data and was directed to check at a harness that goes to the pcm and icm ( power control module , ignition control module ) . I did not find any shorted wires . the instructions were to find the bare " drain wire " which I did. it is a bare stranded wire that wraps around 2-3 other wires and all is encased in a foil wrap. this bare wire ended approx 3 inches from the icm and the end was wrapped on top of the other insulated wires . It just ended . It had no attachment like the other wires at the icm harness . Ive been the only owner and have never uncovered these wires . this is all factory material . I ve done all the work on the truck except for a/c . Can any one tell me what this bare
" DRAIN WIRE ' is . And I have a hard time believing that it has no attachment . it is just about fully encased in this 1 inch diameter harness.
