Default What type of Diode??

I'm trying to determine what kind of deodorant I need for my current application. I'm in the process of hooking up some LED backup lights to my truck.
The lights will be on a switch inside of the cab so I can turn the lights on and off whenever I want, but I also plan on splicing the led wire in the rear of the truck to the trailer harness so when I put the truck in reverse the lights will come on automatically.
These folks here at RadioShack are of no help LOL

Here's what they are trying to sell me at RadioShack. The front of the package says it is a rectifier DIode

I assume you want the diode to prevent the in-cab switch from feeding the back-up lights. The one you show should work.

As far as deodorant, I prefer clear stick. White can leave marks on your shirt if not careful and I don't like spray.
