The tire pressure monitoring system TPMS is pre-programmed at the factory to what the sticker has on it for the tires it rolled off the line with, you can change it with Forscan to go lower or higher, really no need as more air pressure will not set off the system alert. Sometimes it's better to research as tire shops have to be accountable for their work, thus their refusal to set pressure to anything other than what oem states.
Get an air compressor and gauge and adjust to your hearts delight.

I now have Nitto Terra Grappler G2 in 275/55/20 and they are set to 38psi cold.
How come my TPMS hasn’t gone off? On a cold morning they were even down to 36 psi and no warning?

My door jamb states that I need 43 psi cold for the stock 265/60/18 Hankook Dynapro HT tires.
I now have Nitto Terra Grappler G2 in 275/55/20 and they are set to 38psi cold.
How come my TPMS hasn’t gone off? On a cold morning they were even down to 36 psi and no warning?

My door label is at 48 and my warning com on at 38

THAts because your truck came with E-rated tires. E-rated tires only attain their load rating at 50 psi, so that’s roughly where the manufacturer expects you to keep them at (especially on HD trucks).
Most users on here don’t have HDPP; the Dynapros above are P-rated iirc. Your specific truck’s TPMS is tailored to E-range. With TPMS you can usually upgrade (P to LT with no problems), but going backwards from E to P will throw warnings.

Yes I know . My comment was more to debate what Tom with a truck was saying about alarm being trigged at 20-23 psi. If my warning is trigged 10 psi below door label, it probably be the same for other, so if door label says 43psi it will probably alarm at 33 psi, not 20-25.
