Default What is this piece?

A friend was visiting in her 1997 F150. After she left, the piece in the picture was on my driveway. It was sitting where the front of her truck was parked. Can someone tell me what this part is? She was able to drive home without incident. Thanks.

Default Old Rotten Neoprene:

Looks like a ball-joint or tie-rod end boot. A quick investigation of the various joints should tell the story.

Thank you for the quick replies!

I will let her know for when she talks to her mechanic. If I can get over there in the next few days, I'll crawl under and take a look.

Following up to mention that her mechanic told her it was a sway bar part, although she didn't remember the exact name. It didn't cost much to fix. She appreciated the suggestions you guys made so I'm passing on her Thank You!
