Default What! No Stop/Start?

I took a ride with a friend on Saturday in his new truck. It was a left over 2019 Chevy Silverado with a V8. I ask him what he thought about the Stop/Start. He stated it did not have that thing on his truck. I was shocked! I thought everything manufactured had that Stop/Start. So, what gives.
Yes, I did give him a hard time for not buying a Ford.

I'd rather have auto start/stop than that cylinder deactivation garbage.

My 80 yr old uncle was getting rid of his 2014 F150 XLT, which he just sold on craigslist. 22,000 miles for 24,000. But anyway when he was car shopping he said to me did you know the car shuts off at a stop sign ? I had no idea. Then after I went truck shopping Saturday and coming back to the dealership and deciding on one of the trucks I tried out. The salesman was telling me about the truck. Then he mentioned it shutting off. I said we just drove 6 miles with each truck, neither shut off. He said if you had the AC cranked it would not. But one button and its off. My uncles Subaru Outback he bought you need to go into the screen, click through three screens to shut off. A PIA compaired to Ford.
But I guess I been out of the loop for a while because I didn't know it existed.

What ever one you get stuck with, auto stop/start or cylinder deactivation garbage, both are a pia when forced on you. You should have the option of shutting it off forever without having to purchase a device to kill the stupid stop/start. I showed that friend how it works before he bought his truck and agreed it made no sense. He is happy his new truck does not have it.

At least it's easy to completely disable the auto stop start on the Ford. Cylinder deactivation is much more expensive with either a programmer and or replacing hard parts.

Yes, that Cylinder deactivation must really be a bad one.

I just came from a chevy... turning off cylinder deactivation is easy with a range device or tuner.. not a big deal...

Wanna kill that auto stop/start on a Ford? disconnect the battery monitor sensor on the negative cable. Cost $0.00 There's an added bonus side effect of that as well, it allows your alternator to continuously charge like they always have for the past 50 years. Disconnected mine almost 7 years ago due to waking up to a dead battery from that stupid system never fully charging it. No problems since.
