Default what does it mean?

Sorry if is a dumb question but I've seen several people here refer to their trucks in the following way for example: 2000 f150 7700. What is the 7700??? just curious.

An F150 7700 series is an F-250 light duty. they changed the badges in 2001 i think. its got the 7700 GVWR, 4r100 tranny, 3.73 or 4.10 gears, thicker torsion bars and a bunch of other stuff.

I actually just picked up a 2001 7700. I will have to look in the owners manual tomorrow and see if it gives any specifics on all of the towing, gears and that good stuff, and I will post up anything if it says.
