Default What to do with my truck during deployment??

So we leave for 7 months coming up soon. I'm a single guy and dont really trust any friends to take care of my truck. (also don't really want to ask that of someone)

I'm in jax, fl and my dad is in jax, NC.

Should I just drive it up there and leave it with him?
Any better ideas to keep it in FL for quick access when I come home?

Been in 5 years and haven't been gone longer than 2 months yet. I know, I know.....

I would leave it at your dads so he can turn it on once a week, but it is a pretty long drive .

drive it up to apex, NC and I'll start it once a week
but really, bring it up here and have him start it and drive it to the store once a month or so just to keep it fresh. It's the safest thing and probably the cheapest. maybe when you return you could fly into NC

Id bring it to him or use a store it somewhere. Have one of your friends start it/drive it every so often plus itll be out of the elements. If i was in FL id do it for you lol.

My wife just drives mine once a week when i'm gone but I don't know what to suggest to you other than store it or send it up to your dad and let him keep it up.

stay safe dude, and thanks for serving.

leave it with the father unit, it's worth the travel time for the peace of mind.

Default Storing a vehicle

If you happen to use a storage unit, check out what insurance coverage you have. Friend put a Eldorado in one a couple of years back, supposedly covered by ins on the building and dropped his car ins. While there, lightning hit the building and burn it down. His vehicle was not covered. Just a heads up on this.

good point, you should always at least have storage insurance on it

Talk to the guards at the gate. Here at my base, we have a long-term storage lot you can keep it in, and it should be fine.
