stupid question as I learn more about this. Are they just as good when you use their plug and play custom tune or does it have to be on their dyno?

they custom tuned it after the stock run for 93 octane performance, also fixed auto start, speed limiter, gear shifting and speedometer for TIRE and wheel size.

Just remember that the speed limiter is there to protect YOU and the public. Certain parts of the drivetrain have limits and operating outside those limits will lead to pretty catastrophic results. Some examples are driveshaft, tires, wheels, brakes. Brakes are designed to stop a vehicle of a certain mass from a certain speed by turning the kinetic energy into heat. the amount of kinetic energy is expressed as
KE = 1/2 X M X V*2
That's one half the mass times the velocity squared. that means when you increase your speed by 10% the kinetic energy increases by 20%. At some point the brakes just do not have the capacity to stop the vehicle because they can only absorb so much heat.
The other parts fail by just breaking at the rpms above their design. Why are there speed limiters now and there used to not be? Certainly liability but also today's vehicles are MUCH more powerful than before. My 1995 Dodge RAM had 220HP. My 2011 F150 has 365HP. You Ecoboost has more. Especially with a tune.

And yet people tow heavy trailers at 80 MPH with tires rated at 65 MPH.

Put on my AFE intake Nice piece, came wrap up really well....heck the box empty was even heavy ! I guess they did not want anything to happen in transit. I did not put a tune on as of yet, but with the CAI in you can hear the whoosh and the turbo's which is pretty cool.
Next up is upgrading the stock sound system. I should have the kicker system by tomorrow.
