Have a 2013 XLT 5.0 and just noticed this switch/button thing up under the hood. It's on the right hand side by the antifreeze reservoir.
Any ideas??

it is the alarm switch for the hood.

or like mine its the hood pin switch for the oem car starter..

yep, DO NOT open the hood if you remote-started the truck and haven't put the key in the ignition yet
