Waze and AA quit working with Sync3 after 3.0 update
Updated from 2.2 to 3.0 a week ago. All went well and even uploaded the xml file fine. Haven't connected the phone until now. Waze and AA and Maps all updated to latest from Play Store on phone. Phone is Samsung android 6.01. Waze and AA launch on phone, but not on Sync3 screen. When I had 2.2, I would launch AA on phone and then Maps or Waze would come up on Sync screen, which ever was selected last session. Now when connecting USB cable, Sync screen displays phone conected but no AA icon on the bottom like before. On sync3, AA is enabled, wifi disabled, updates off just as before. Tried different USB cables and no different. The phone works fine on our 2016 Escape with V3 update but not in truck.
Was hoping someone had some insite as I have this same issue.
I have a '16 with the upgraded 3.0 usb and non nav. Waze never came up on the truck screen in my last version (2.0). Just upgraded to 3.0 via usb per ford and all went well. But. No waze! I am told waze should work with anything above 2.0...right? Yes, I use the usb cord but no joy.
Anyone have ideas?

Do I need to download Waze on the truck? It is on my iphone, but wont link to the truck. Maybe I am just doing something wrong. That, or version 3.0 lost waze somehow.

To answer your question, yes it has to be on your phone and no it is not resident on Sync3 in the truck. V3.0 lost the connection to Waze and Android Auto. It still works on the phone, but does no longer come up on the Sync 3 screen after the 3.0 update. That is the problem. My truck came with V2.2 and worked with Waze and AA. Should have left it alone.
That helps a ton, ty. My last version was 2.0 and Waze didnt work with that. Seems like it worked with 2.2 and 2.3. Damn. Acuweather wont work either, which I have seen works for others.
Anyone know what changes there are from 2.0 and 3.0? Cant see any diff at all, cept the version number!
