Personally, I think its as much to do with the rags, as the polish or wax. Using a microfiber rag, not polishing in the wind when its dusty, wiping the surface with a chamois before addnig the product, ... all play into a great finish.

I have used 10 or more different ones. I really don't think 1 shines more than any other, so I resolved to use the ones that have the least dust, and don't take forever to dry, which would allow dust more time to settle, which you end up rubbing into the clearcoat when you remove/buff.

Here is my 10 year old PT. Not 1 type of polish, rather a mish mash over the years.

@ Platinum Sean, Nice shine, but, I like the GSD I see in the reflection best. Looks like a handsome dog....

Probably keeping my vehicle in the garage has more to do w/the finish than the type of wax I use. The NXT2 was easier to get off for me. We'll see how it lasts. I had used carnuba Turtle wax for years prior to that.

Oh, and always by hand.

Exterior detail from Peretti's in Toiletto, OH for $60. Every 4 months. They even shine the mud-flaps.

Default Expensive, but Worth it:

I use Klasse polish and glaze on my LTC and F150. It's pricey, about 50 bucks for two little containers, but a little goes a long way. Two fluid ounces will do a whole truck and the treatment lasts for about eight months. The finish on both of my vehicles is in excellent condition so only the glaze is necessary. It is extraordinarily easy to apply; no exhausting buffing is required.

Klasse is a German-made product and is used by MB, BMW and other premium marques to shine up their show cars. Get some and you will not be disappointed. (Take a look at my '94 Lincoln TC for an example of a Klasse shine on the original paint job.)

Off topic alert....

Puppy is Faith, she is 16 years old and has only about 10 days left in her. Hip displacia, lost teeth, arthritis... She is not in pain from what we can tell, she is still playfull and barks at the squirrels, but its becoming a challenge for us and her at bathroom time. Toughest decision ever...

16 yrs is a great age for larger breeds - you must take excellent care of her. Its never easy to put down a friend but you're making the right decision and an easy passing is a great gift for all the years she has spent with you.
