Does the 3.3l v6 f150 have the internal, or external water pump.

I believe the transverse mounted engines are the one's that have the internal water pump.

Tell me about it . Our 2014 Edge (3.5L) has the internal water pump and if it goes out without blowing up the motor, it will take me a day and a half to replace it

The only issue I ever had with my 2015 5L V8 was at 55,000 the water pump went.
I listened to it grind off and on for a month...then one cold and stormy night while waiting for my daughter at basketball practice. It went. Grind Grind Steam...

The pump has two seals. There's a weep hole (see below) when the first seal goes. If you start losing any coolant, stop and make sure it's not coming from the weep hole for the water pump. In a second gen 3.5, the water pump impeller design is beefed up and should last as long as your timing chains. 9/10, you are only going to contaminate your oil by driving it with a "small coolant leak" for a period of time.

I keep a close eye on the coolant level. Nice to know about the two seals. Thanks for the heads up.

Is this on an F150? Only the transverse 3.5s have the internal water pumps to save space. On those engines the weep hole is on the back side of the motor (side facing the firewall) just behind the timing cover.

A $20 UV dye kit can be a huge help in identifying coolant leaks regardless.
