Default Warning on HID's in Jersey

Went to my local performance shop to talk about getting me projector HD's he said no problem as long as they weren't HID's apparently last year New Jersey passed a law stating if your vehicle did not come from the factory with factory HID's they would be considered illegal now I don't know of a fine if a cop pulls you over(knowing NJ probably) but you defiantly will not pass inspection he said his distributors won't even ship them to him
ps I'm sorry if this is known but I'm just hearing of this now so I figured I'd pass it along

thank all the jackasses that just install them and don't aim them right....if they aren't aimed right you will drive someone right off the road.

Default Do-Gooders' Paradise:

Yeah, some of those states in the northeast regulate the hel* out of everybody and tax everyone into the poor-house....I know, I escaped Massachusetts years ago and still had a dollar in my pocket.

I had a 1982 Mercury Zephyr that had four 150mm headlamps. The low beams were 35 watt candles, downright dangerous, so I set up a system using four 150mm dual-beam lamps to get four low-beams...worked like a charm.

I got stopped by the cops one night for driving in town with high-beams. I said I had four LOW-beams on...they said "that's not a legal setup". I said, "Show me" and they searched the regulations and found nothing. Here in Florida, the rule for headlamps simply states that no more than four forward-facing lamps will be lit at any one time, so I was legal.

I finally had to go back to two low-beams because I got dam*ed sick-and-tired of being flashed by the oncoming idiots when they got close enough to discovered I had four lamps lit.
