Wally world put my 325/60/18s on my truck with no questions asked. I go there for rotations all the time, because it's cheap as hell, and quick.
And I know everyone says they're all idiots, or they are a bunch of hacks, but when you can watch them doing the service, you can see that they are doing it right. They do a proper criss-cross rotation and then bolt them up. They go out in the parking lot and do a couple turns, and then bring it back in and torque them. Hell, that's better than I would do it myself in my driveway.

The thing with wally world is people, ALL people tend to think with their wallet and it's hard to beat ww prices. I don't make it a habit to shop there but if I need something quick and cheap they are the go to store, hell ammo prices alone are worth a trip there.

I just got back from Sam's club were I was checking out tires. I was looking at 275/6020 the guy was helpful but he did inform me the he could not mount them just sell them. He said because they were not in spec with the manufacture guide lines. I was like WHAT does not make sense.

I would only guess that while some Walmarts might install and/or work on tires that are not OEM spec (size/type), that their general rule of thumb is to NOT work on things on vehicles that are not within mfg spec - simply because at the point they DO work on it, they are partially taking ownership for any ills that may come of it.

Imagine a scenario where someone goes in and says "please install these 305/55R20 tires for me - but the truck's specs are 275/55R20. Then later at some point you end up with transmission issues, or worn our ball joints, etc... that COULD open the door for you to go back on Walmart and say "Nobody at the Walmart Car Center told me that installing these non-spec tires could cause an issues, and I SHOULD have been told ... and if told, I would NOT have put those tires on my truck.".

It might sound stupid, but I'm sure that has already happened. That's just how people are these days.

I'm not defending Walmart ... I'm just pointing out why I think they might take that stance in some cases.

It's Walmart's policy, why get mad at the person working there? He's just trying to make a living like anyone else. If you have a problem take it up with home office (ha good luck, hope you have a lot of free time). I worked at Walmart for 8 years and hate it as much as the next person, but most of the time people get worked up its just the associate following the policy that is in place.

Bottomline. It is cool in today's world to find anything to hate on Walmart for.

Yah it's always fun running a register and some dude is flipping out at you and causing a scene about a policy and there's nothing you can do about it if you want to keep your job.

So true. I used to deliver pizzas and people would go crazy if you forgot the mayonnaise they requested. They would want their whole meal free.
