Otherwise I am good with a fully loaded XLT. I appreciate the help.

Once you have 4A you will never go back. Not sure why ford doesn't offer it on all there trucks. Bought my 99 Silverado new and it had and loved it. Almost bought an 2016 XLT until i realized no 4A then switched to a lariat.
The guys that say no big deal to switch back and forth I bet have never owned a 4A truck.

Meh, I'd go back. I have zero use for 4a. I want 4x4 or I don't. No in-between.
I've had 4x4 trucks since early 90's and know how and when to use 4a.

One thing for sure, 4a isn't meant to give the driver to drive too fast for the conditions (like all the threads where people say they love 4a because sometimes it rains hard).
4a is a nice feature but is not the best thing since bread.

We just came out of a 7 month snow season. I loved the 4a and used it a quite a bit throughout the snow season.

Pigman67,
Your in Bismark ND? When I was a kid the local weather would often times call out your town as the coldest in the nation.

I would imagine 4a would come in handy there.
