Did you turn off the traction control. My 2014 fx4 works best on ice is 4w low with traction control off. I've found you have to try different settings based on condition and tires.

Yes, definitely turn traction control off. If you shift to 4-low I think it turns it off automatically, but if not definitely turn it off!

Also, lower the air pressure in your tires to about 15-20 psi.

If you do these things, you should have no issues going anywhere your Ridgeline would go and then some.

Something tells me that the f150 weighs a little more than your Honda.

The weight of the F150 completely changes the driving dynamics off road.

The Honda had enough tire surface area to keep a relatively low ground pressure.

To get the F150 to the same ground pressure, you have to air down. (lower PSI, more surface area as a footprint)

I think the key here is before you drive your truck other than the road, it's highly recommended to both read your manual and understand the features like traction control. In the first snow after buying my truck I went out and tried the different traction options as well as the elocker to understand how they behaved BEFORE I needed them.

^^^
||||| This! LOL!

Many moons ago I had a little 2 door hatchback with wide tires on it. I could let the air out and cruise through the sand dunes where I grew up and amaze the 4 wheeler crowds! NO I could not climb dunes like they could but I could get around with judicious driving without issues in the soft sand!
