Default Unique Ford ESP Question

Hey guys,

So I attempted to buy a factory ford ESP today from my dealer, and was told it was not possible on my truck. The truck is a 2015 F-150 XLT with 14,000 miles on it and the original 3 year, 36,000 mile factory warranty.

Now the reason I wasn't able to get a warranty was because the truck was originally sold and registered in Canada. Then, it was bought and titled in Arizona. Now, I own it and will be registering it in California.

I know that Ford ESPs cannot be bought from the US to be used in Canada. A Ford ESP CAN be bought in the US and used when traveling in Canada. But I do not know if a truck that was originally registered in Canada, but is now registered in the US can be warrantied.

I believe the issue is that the Ford ESP Computer thinks that this truck is operated in Canada. Now I need to add that it is titled in Arizona, but was never registered in Arizona. Maybe after I register it in California then the ford computer will accept it. But I do not know if the Ford ESP computer links the VIN # to the registration.

Any help or input would be appreciated. Not sure what to do at this point other than turning to a 3rd party warranty.

Also, I want a warranty, please don't turn this into "warranties aren't worth it" thread.

You might want to re-post this in the 2015 to present thread as per

then the ford reps here can help you.

Hope this helps

I figured it wasn't a question specific to a 2015.

I will do that, thanks. I will let you know what response I get.

They have great prices, but FloodFord has slightly better prices, even with the Ziegler coupon code.

They did not use to, so they are getting competitive. Call Flood then, they should be able to do anything Bob Can, especially since you say they are cheaper now.

Make sure you are comparing apples to apples: deducts to deducts and rental car or not.

Good luck.

Yeah I am comparing all that. I'm not as concerned by price now. Even entering my VIN on the ford ESP website it says a warranty is not available for me. Which doesn't make sense, as I have the factory warranty now.

Update: Talked to Bob Kline, very friendly guy and great customer service. He checked things out for me and let me know this morning that I CAN purchase an ESP through him. Not sure why my dealer couldn't do it.

By all means get the rental, I just save me bigtime. My part was on National backorder and took almost a month to get it. Ford payed for the total rental cost.
Got my ESP thru Flood Ford
