Default To undercoat or not

Just bought F150 Lariat and had the electrical rust protector put in, hooks to battery and puts a charge into car to stop rusting. The dealer recommends and has had on other cars and has worked well. I am a bit worries on the rear wheel wells being so open and was wondering if undercoating is needed to help protect my investment as I wish to keep this truck for a long time. New to forum and would really appreciate opinions or what others have done.

I have a 97 that was heavily undercoated by one of the previous owners and I would highly recommend an undercoating to anybody. I have almost no rust at all. There is not a spec of rust on the body, the only parts that have really had rust problems were the exhaust components and the mounting hardware (nuts, bolts, etc).

I just bought a 2010 and plan to have it rust proofed. I'm
looking at the "TST" system. I also plan to keep this thing
for many years. Here in Ohio, ODOT is pouring, yes pouring
liquid salt on its roads BEFORE it snows. It started out as a
test project but after three years it looks like a go. Not good
at all for the undersides of any car or truck. Dealerships are
saying it's hell on brake lines.
