can someone please help? my 2005 f-150 check engine light is on so picked up a code reader from autozone. my problem is that the scan tool will not turn on. checked the connection and turn on the key but nothing. i've tried the scan tool on two other cars and it works fine. i've read elsewhere that it could be a k-wire problem. i don't know what that means. please help.

 

check your fuses. in my 01' mine wouldnt work and i called a shop and he said does your cigarette lighter work and i was like no it just recently went out and i checked and the fuse was blown and when i replaced it she read my codes!

your OBDII port works off of the same circut as your cigarette lighter
