TruXedoŽ - Elevate Telescoping Rack - Feedback / Review
Looking for feedback, review, opinions, best price on the TruXedoŽ - Elevate Telescoping Rack - https://www.carid.com/2020-ram-1500-...yABEgI9lvD_BwE - 2019 F150 SC 5.5' - Thanks
I'm considering this as well, along with a tonneau cover and would like to see if anyone has got one. Looks like truck hero makes these to be compatible with many of the brand tonneaus they sell.
From what I see,
Pros:
From what I see,
Pros:
- uses T-slot
- height adjustable
- price compared to Thule / Yakima
- can be used with tonneaus that incorporate a t-slot
- easy to remove
- height adjustment requires tools
- lower weight limit
- requires a rail kit for tonneaus without t-slot
I did buy one along with a Truxedo Sentry CT tonneau cover from Luke @truckalter . The package works well together and was easy to install. Truck Hero is not currently selling this rack because they identified an issue with the gussets that lead to cracking. The gussets are a glass fiber reinforced polymer and not metal - one reason why the rack is less expensive than others. When I spoke with the company, they indicated they are working with the supplier to update the part. The uprights and crossbars are nicely extruded aluminum.
For me, I've had no issues with it, but I don't carry heavy loads on it. I mainly use it for surfboards, skis and the occasional large item from the lumber yard. This is a good home-owner / sportsman rack as opposed to a contractor rack.

Thanks! The tonneau cover is what scares me the most, I have the Tri-Fold hard tonneau cover that ford sells, where the rubber over laps on the box by about an inch. Are the rails in a bit to allow for that gasket?
Like you, I just need it for kayaks, bikes, skis.
Cheers!
If the rails for your tonneau are inboard mounted and clamp to the flange on the inside of the bed rail, you should be ok. Once installed, there is a nice flat area for the overlaps to sit against the rack rails. Post a pic of your current setup and I'll get a better idea.

my fear is how the rail attaches, can i have to rails attach to one-another?

edit: the rails also come with with an optional thinner gasket so everything fits together

Yes, the rails will oppose each other and I believe there was a little overlap for the tonneau rails to grab. When installing, I used a set of quick grip clamps to hold the two together to the bed flange while bolting up the metal bolt clamps. It looks like your Ford tonneau is manufactured by Bak. I believe Bak is one of the brands that is compatible with the system.

Can you attach some pics of your set up because I'm also running the Truxedo Sentry CT also and was considering this once they start selling them again.
Thank you
