Default truck bed seating

ive been running into the problem lately of not having enough room in my truck and needing to take multiple vehicles, has anyone on here put passenger seats in the bed of their truck? ive googled and have seen the bed ryder and the CA cruiser but want more details on a homemade setup

my ideas are for either a bench in the back or maybe jumper seats from an extended cab ranger, and a camper shell to keep the rider protected from the elements, any thoughts?

No real ideas but I'm interested too. When out ballooning I often have need for extra seats - or have to chase with a second vehicle. I'd like to see some kind of jump seat set up that could be folded up - or possibly something that could be added with some quick pins for easy in-and-out. Like you suggest, either a couple of jump seats, maybe a fold down rear from an extended cab???

In my case weather is not critical - we only fly in fair weather so riding in the bed is not that big an issue aside from comfort, safety and legality.

Surely there's some innovative fabricators out there who could come up with something?

each state is different, but i believe ohio, like most states, u can ride in the bed as long as the seat is propely secured and the seatbelts are also properly secured

ohio you can ride in the bed, but i know there is an age requirement for that. just put a second bench in there just like your truck has. bolt it all down with seat belts and everything. the only problem would be the height of the seat, people would be taller then the cab and a cap wouldnt work too great. plus with a cap you have the worry about exhaust fumes enter and not enough ventilation.

City ordinances might be a bit different but in Ohio from what I have seen and experienced. Ridding in the bed is fine, seats, bets, or not as long as the individual is over 16 I think, but over 18 for sure. IF they are under 16, again depending on city ordinance, the speed is limited to 25 mph (got a ticket for this in HS, however because I was in town and going around a traffic circle the over 25mph part wasn't proved so I didn't get stuck with it).

As far as the actual seat part goes... I can't see adding a seat being any better unless you actually bolted it to the bed, which would require setting up mounts and likely drilling through the bed itself.

MN.... You have to keep your **** within the bed. No arms hanging out, etc.
