Default Trouble with '11 dashboard

'Lo all! Proud owner of 2011 XLT SC.. when shopping I found the right ride but with no trailer brake controller. Salesman said if I paid for the part..he'd put it in..no labor .dealer cost $185....O.K Now from what I understand this is about a 30(max)job. Make a long story short, my ride is still at the dealer. Seems after resetting the dash computer to recog the brake mod. the dash is seeing a low oil warn from the engine comp. I say "seeing" cause the engine comp says oil is fine.
Ford Tech. is involved (this is brand new dash..great, huh) and indicated that a whole new instr. cluster may be needed and, of course, this has to be ordered. Dealer has given a comp rental..but geez! Will keep all posted..

agreed.

don't sweat it. someone at the stealership did something wrong (probably) while they were installing the brake controller and fugged up your dash computer.

Default Update on dash

O.K. the inst cluster has been replaced..still have the sameo sameo..Now dealer is talking to Ford who recommended the cluster change in the first place and Ford now says to wipe the computers clean and start all over..I'm not to happy with all the dickn' around with the electronics on my brand new tk..but like the man said..so long as it gets fixed..and looks good.....if the total wipe dosen't work a real live engineer is going to take a look at it...hmmm..I wonder if Ford just replaces the whole truck.....

Default Dashboard Update

ALRIGHT...NOW THAT'S what I'm talking about !!!! Ford suggested that dealer scrub both..that's both..computers in the truck(ya know I think I'd have done that FIRST thing..but then...)..then reload another program(that Ford happened to have)..Bingo..all ok ok..back in my ride again.. Keep in mind if any dash issues..It's all new..and now it's all good....

great. I am sure it sucked, but good on you for exercising patience on letting ford take care of you.
