Default Tranny Fluid Flush$$$

Hey guys, I just got to 70,000 miles on my truck and I am thinking about tranny fluid service. I do towing about once a month, usually long distance. How much is the usual dealer cost, and do you think it should be done. Of course I will ask the service writer the price if I make an appointment. I know first hand the bad news with these 10 speeds. Thanks in advance.

I would do it. I drain the pan and refill mine every 60,0000 miles along with the transfer case and axles.

Thanks. Do you do it at home, or do you have a shop do it? I see there is a drain and fill or a drop the pan option. I may tackle drain and fill myself.

My local dealer did a fluid exchange and a filter change for $290.00.

I do mine myself. You have to drop the pan to drain it - there is not a drain plug.
It's not horrible to do but can be messy since there is not a plug.

Pick up a suction gun, they are pretty cheap. I use the gun and get most of the fluid out then drop the pan, much less mess.
