Default trailer question

11.00 Applicant will be responsible for driving a 42 foot trailer that will be used at various locations around the Coastal Bend.

Would my f150 fx4 be able to handle this trailer.... idk if i have to provide the truck or they do.... its a listing at a college campus and i was wondering if i would be able to handle it with my pick up... 42 feet seems huge.

that is a lot of trailer for a f-150. doable but unlikely a realistic expectation. Weight ir more of a factor then length.

No way would I beat my personal truck like that for a job. If they are providing the truck then sure. So long as the weight of the trailer doesn't exceed the maximum towing capacity of the truck they are providing. 42 feet is a pretty long trailer...

Make sure the truck and trailer arent over 12000 pounds otherwise you will need a chuaffeur license with a DOT medical card. If it is over 26001 pounds then you will need to have a CDL.

I believe intrastate basically to cross a state border. I do not think you need a ICC physical card if you stay within your borders.

The only one that I know of is if you are over 26001lbs commercial... Thats why I asked for the actual code that requires it... You can be required to have certain endorsements for less weight (air brakes, haz mat, etc)...
