Default trailer backup assist

I thought this was a gimmick, but just tried it and it works very well. Especially for short wheel base trailers that you cannot see very well behind the truck. The only drawback is you cannot turn as sharp because the computer gives a little more leeway to keep it from hitting the bumper.

Hmmm, I wonder if my aftermarket bumper moves the measuring point from where the factory license plate was?

I have been using smaller trailers for many years now and then, so used to backing. I tried the assist on my 23’ travel trailer and found it to just take too long. Yes, it works, but by the time you turn it on, select the trailer name, wait for the camera to find the sticker, and get the message to go I could already have parked it.
