So many variables....hard to say what they'll offer. One thing for certain is their FIRST offer (or two....or three....) will suck. In the end, I would say if you can't get a 'true' $15K offer, I'd tell them to fly a kite. And by 'true' I mean they still need to offer discounts on the new vehicle too. Doesn't help you much if they give you even $20K if they don't budge off sticker price.
Good luck!

It is a real nice truck, but unfortunately you will not be offered much in trade in value. I know a lot of people do not like to but I would try to sell it yourself. It will most likely mean $3-$4K extra in your pocket with not a lot more work on your part. My last car I was offered so little in trade that it motivated me to sell it my self and I made about $3k extra on the deal. It probably came out to about 8 hours total work, so I made about $400 an hour for my time.

The only way to know what you'll get for your trade is to go to the dealer and see. I traded in an '09 Tacoma, fully loaded. I looked up the trade-in value on both Kelley Blue Book and NADA, and both showed about $27k. The first dealer I went to wouldn't offer me more than $19k for it, and they absolutely wouldn't budge. The second dealer, across town, offered me $27,500. That's a significant difference. And before anybody thinks that I'd been had because the second place probably didn't give me as good a deal on the price of the F150, they knocked $8300 off the sticker including rebate, whereas the first place only offered the $4500 rebate. Overall, a difference of $12,300 between the two places. Guess who got my business?
