Default tpms issues

I recently bought some newer stock ford rims for my 2013 F-150. Drove it for a few days now the tire monitor is beeping. I tried to use the reset sequence and my truck wont pick up the sensors. Are we unable to disarm these? or is there an issue with my newer rims on the older truck?

Thank you

j

I'm not sure which years are the same, but the frequency is probably not the same. You could take the sensors out of the old rims, but it would have been a lot cheaper to do that before.

I think there is a way to disable them, but I strongly advise against it. If you look around on the internet I've seen replacement sensors for as little as $15 each. A tire store will install them for about $10 each or for free when they are mounting tires anyway.

It seems like I have to repeat this once a week, but those sensors are not there to replace a air gauge. They are there to warn you if you have a sudden loss of air pressure while driving. A few years ago I hit something and punched a large hole in one tire while driving 75 mph on an interstate hwy. The warning light came on and just barely had time to get onto the shoulder of the road and stopped before the tire was completely flat. Without a working TPMS system I'd have had a tire disintegrate at 75 mph that would have likely resulted in a serious accident.

If the new wheels are from 2015+, then yes the sensors are a different frequency and need to be changed.

Frequency is not the issue. All NA Ford vehicles use 315MHZ sensors. The issue is that the sensors are an older generation and are not compatible. F150 switched to the new generation sensors in MY15

kjadamek ... All NA Ford vehicles use 315MHZ sensors....
Except for the ones that use the 343Mhz sensors.
