Default tow package?

My 2k7 F150 didn't come with a tow package. I have a connector for trailer brakes, and the dealer installed an aftermarket hitch. I have what appears to be a tranny cooler (small silver radiator in front of main radiator) and an oil cooler? (thin radiator the same size as the main one, in front of the main radiator). So..other than the propper pins (came with 4 pin only), and the brakes, is there anything else I need to tow my max tow rating safely, ie did I get hosed for my tow capacity by not getting a tow package?

Aslong as the hitch is rated for your max capacity, you have everything else you need

It sounds like you have everything in order. Just be diligent with watching your temp (engine and tranny) gauges when towing anything heavy.

If your towing a jet ski(example) then there is not real worry about tow capacity.

Default Just to be clear

The full size "thin" radiator in front of the main radiator is the AC condensor, not an oil cooler. A small silver radiator in front of that may or may not be a transmission cooler (possibly an oil cooler, power steering cooler, etc). Posting a picture sure helps. If you only have the 4pin, I would suggest you don't have a towing package, but I could be wrong.

No I don't have the towing package, but I thought the small radiator in the front was tranny cooler and was a stock item even without the tow package. Here's a picture of the silver cooler that is in the truck now, I have a hitch (6000lbs/10k lbs weight distro). I was thinking with a brake controler I would be pretty much good to go with the horse trailer and add an active suspension later to increase payload and make things even easier..do I have more work cut out for me than I thought?

if you're not 100% sure about the trans cooler...they are cheap insurance when towing heavy...

crawl your butt under the truck a take a look.

If its not there, then put one on, normally able to get a universal trans cooler for less than $100 all day long.

I'd go with just the tranny cooler.
