I don't know if it's the best, but I am very happy with my Kobalt low-profile toolbox.

I paid $145 for it 3 years ago. I just checked Lowe's website and it seems to have gone up to $258. (I missed the color "black" in your initial post, sorry.)

Tractor Supply Co. has a similar box for $229.

The black toolbox is $289.

Good luck!

Kobalt toolboxes are definately cost a little more than most but they are definately worth it. Bought mine almost ten years ago and have not had a problem with it. Money well spent.

Im happy with my deezee black low profile tool box from tractor supply, only thing is that it dont have a brace across the center of the lid so mine looks like it sags a little in the middle, but not really noticeable. I got mine on sale for $220 but mine is the extra deep one

I work for a power company and we have all different kinds, Weatherguard is hands down the best, well built with excellent hardware on them.
