Tire Set Up
So I traded in my ‘13 F150 5.0 for a 2018 F150 stx edition. I went to the local truck shop today and purchased new wheels and tires along with a leveling kit(rough country) that will all be installed on Monday. I mentioned to the guy that I wanted to keep the factory crash bars ford installed for warranty reasons. He told me the biggest tire size I could go without rubbing or cutting anything was 275/60/20. My stockers are 275/55/20 which doesn’t make me feel too excited about the new tire size. Granted they are the new Toyo AT2, I wanted a more meatier look on my truck. Will I notice much of a difference with the new 275/60? I have some people recommending a 285/60/20 or a 275/60/20.

I've switched from 275/55 to 275/60 a few weeks after purchasing mine... Didn't notice any difference at all. It looks a little better too. It's a 33'' tire instead of a 32''. Plus, it corrected the factory speedometer inaccuracy. My speed is now dead on accurate (according to a GPS).
What do you mean by crash bar? Is you truck equipped with aditionnal safety components?
OEM setup on our F150s can handle up to 34'' of tires, which is equivalent to 265/65r20 for our 20'' rims. A 2'' leveling kit will increase your maximum tire size to 35''.

Could you post pictures of your set up? My only worry is I don’t want them to look too skinny.
Why can't you run a 305/55-20? That's what everybody else is doing.

They're OK, but with a 2'' leveling kit, they would def. look odd... Grab some 265/65R20, you won't be disappointed. If you're looking for ''beefier'' tires, get some 295s or 305s, but I personally like the 265 width for overall use.
As I said, you can go up to 35...
I have Bilstein's set to 1.75" and Raptor take offs with 315/70R17 and have no rub on anything, including the crash bars. I believe the Raptor tires are 34.5" tall. Maybe the shop is telling you this because of the offset of your aftermarket wheels?
