Default tire sensor

I'm in the process of buying some used tires and rims for my 2007 super crew 4x4. And they say I need banded sensors what are they and do I really need them?. The tires and rims are off of a 2015 f150.

Thanks

The banded TPMS sensors (pre-2009) wrap/clamp-around the middle of the inside of the rim and operate at 433MHz.

The 2009+ are the valve stem variety and operate at 315MHz.

If you don't want the annoying and accompanying dings and/or you have annual vehicle inspections (they are federally mandated), THEN you will need the TPMS sensors.

I have an o8 that calls for band sensors and I got some XD rims that have the valve stem tpms sensors. I googled the yr of ur truck and got this, much cheaper than buying the band sensors cuz you go that way and you buy the bands and the sensors or sold separately. No matter what anyone says they do make valve stem tpms sensors for your truck.

Thumbs down

Depends upon build-date ... some MY2008 got the valve stem variety.

While "valve stem tpms sensors for your truck" will fit they are not compatible with the 2007 F-150 (year according to O/P - supercrewinpa) TPMS system (difference in frequencies). NO MATTER WHAT AUTO PARTS WAREHOUSE indicates. *BTW the TPMS sensors that show-up in the URL/link that you provided are mostly 315MHz and the others - Requires MULTI-FIT Programming Tool (?????) (-click- the (see more) link(s)).

No matter what anyone says they do make valve stem tpms sensors for your truck.
And it's not me saying it, it's FoMoCo.

We had (2) 2008 trucks that we replaced the banded sensors with these. They work great, and program with the same tool.
