Tire Rub...
Just put on a new set of 305/55/R20, and I am seeing rubbing on the front crash bar but only in reverse and full lock. Anyone have any idea why they would rub in reverse but not in drive? And if so, does anyone have an easy solution with out cutting the crash bars out?
Thanks!
Thanks!

There is a piece of square tubing in front of and behind the front wheels on some F-150 models which are referred to as "crash bars". From what I have seen not all models have them. Anyways, they tend to get in the way when larger tires/wheels are put on the truck, being that it is a safety feature installed by Ford for a reason I would rather not have to cut it off the truck. I'm sure there are some guys here that can elaborate on the subject much better than I, but I hope this helps.

At any rate, I'm like yourself, negating safety systems doesn't sound like a real good idea.
Let us know what you come up with.

The crash bars are what give the 2015+ their 5 star rating.
If you have slight rubbing at full lock in reverse you can spread them ever so slightly to stop the rub. I would strongly suggest you do not remove them.

Yea, I have no plans to remove them. Any good method to spread them?

If they only need to be moved about .25" most have cranked the wheel out of the way and used a block of wood and a BIG hammer and beat on them a few times.
Others have used a Porta Powerto spread them a bit.
